Latest version of Android will soon become available on Samsung phones

The Unlocked Samsung S Galaxy has stormed into the market and has definitely created waves of excitement among the people who are interested in technology. We had received some news that the Android 2.2 was being put through a test run on the Samsung Galaxy S and as far as what we had heard, the outcome of these tests have been pretty good and we are waiting for the sign from the company which will signal the release of this product for the common public. In this relation, we have also received the news that this release will be around September. However this release will not be made for any of the US handsets, as it will be only for the original model of the Galaxy S which is sold internationally. In terms of the US release, the time frame for this update will not be very long. The time in which the Galaxy S will be getting the Froyo will be the fastest since the launch of the product.

There are a number of ups and downs to this mobilephones as the TouchWiz UI is not really as good as the ones in the other customized Android phones like the HTC Sense. The also has some upsides as the time it takes for such kind of user interfaces will allow the customized skins to be operated easily and not only that, the update for the platform will be easier to get it out to the public. In terms of the September release date, the time length is pretty good. In that intervening time, one only has the task of waiting for some new phone to hit the market. In spite of all the issues, this phone is great and we want to see what will be included in this total package.

Samsung’s new list of top Bada apps

Samsung has released its next batch of top Bada applications and as usual EA Games’ prime offering – Need for Speed: Shift is at the top of the heap. This is quite as expected, since it was being given away for nothing to the first half million people to have bought Samsung Wave.

What Samsung has in mind with creating this platform is quite clear – Bada (which is a Korean word for “ocean”), released in 2010, is a closed platform owned and controlled by Samsung, and all applications for Bada have to be approved by Samsung and the only way of selling them is via the online store – ‘Samsung Apps’. It is meant to provide the features of unlocked smart phones at a more universally affordable price, and comes with a development platform, which though nothing over-the-top in functionality is at least pretty comprehensive. There are sufficient UI controls, Flash, sensors, OpenGL graphics, SNS integration etc. The drawbacks are a lack multitasking provisions which makes quite a dent in making Bada universally competitive.

With the Wave, Samsung’s first device that is Bada compatible that has been released on the market, the reasons for using Bada have been given a boost. Still, other than EA no other famous gaming brand has lent its support. The other top Bada apps include Magic App’s Magic Torch, Caligo Chaser from Com2us, Stars Map coming from Rightbrain Communications and Leszek Bartkowski’s 3Bloki.

It is essential for Samsung Mobile Phones to try and get more major game publishers to make apps for its Bada platform. Only EA from among the recognizable names doesn’t really mean much in the long run. Moreover, more high-end devices are the need of the hour – fitting somewhat into this category are the Wave 2 and the Wave 2 Pro – given the alternative that Samsung makes good Android phones and has plans for Windows Phone 7 support.

The Samsung code for MetroPCS has really emerged as hugely popular even though it might not be the best phone around. Few characteristics of the phone make it special compared to the rest. This latest addition will obviously help it a great deal. Windows mobile handsets are numerous in the market but Samsung code for MetroPCS are clear favorites to be the most noted phone.

Rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S2

The Galaxy S2 is Samsung’s baby in the making, which is speculated to be coming in to the market early 2011. Now, as always, people are dying to gather more facts about it, but are not quite privy to the information. So, there have been many rumors floating around, and here’s a brief look at them.

The Samsung Galaxy S2 is the next generation of the Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S. The Galaxy S has just been introduced into the market.

Now, let’s have a look at what the Galaxy S2 is going to offer us, according to the many rumors. Apparently, the Samsung Galaxy S2 will have a 720p High Definition resolution display, and will also have a 2GHz processor. We will soon be glaring at a 4.3 inches screen, which will have a resolution of 1280 x 720. Now, this is absolutely insane! There is no smartphone in the market, or in the making, which has that kind of a resolution. That would bring the pixel count to roughly about 340 PPI, venturing into the “retina display” territory. There is talk of a 2GHz processor, but it could also be dual 1GHz processors. The device will have 1GB of Random Access Memory (RAM), and a whopping 4GB of Read only Memory (ROM). The phone will have a built-in memory of 32GB, but the user can always increase with the built-in microSD slot. The Galaxy S2 will have a camera of 8 megapixels, which will also be able to capture videos in high definition. Amazing features such as Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi, and headphone jack, along with features will also be included. All these will supposedly be running on Android 3.0, or better known as Gingerbread. But this fact has not been formally announced yet.

It is uncertain what Samsung Mobilephones has really in store for us. One thing is for sure, and that is, everyone would love the new additions which are splendid! So, if the Galaxy S2 is really what the rumors are all about, then everyone is surely in for a rare treat.

Nokia on the verge of losing their crown to Samsung in Western Europe according to IDC

Europe is where mobile phones originated and Nokia has always been dominant in Europe. However, recent surveys by IDC has pointed out that this trend is slowly changing mainly owing to the rise of Samsung in Europe. Samsung is clearly taking over the market where Nokia had been ruling for a number of years.

Facts and figures have presented IDC with this data and statistics show that the market for Nokia Unlocked Phones have been falling over the last few years and this has been exhibited in a varied number of ways. The numbers are convincing and back up this statement convincingly.

Both Nokia and Samsung have interesting origins and slowly have catapulted themselves into the limelight through sheer quality work. They have achieved a great deal considering Nokia set out making papers and Samsung started off selling vegetables. They realized their potential for electronics much later and today they are paramount in the mobile phone business. However, Samsung overhauling Nokia from the European stronghold may be a historic moment for Samsung although Samsung still has to do a lot to catch up to the reputation of Nokia for providing quality products. The survey may be right, but still people feel that Nokia is much better in the quality of materials and functionalities than Samsung Unlocked Phones. Nokia continue to be the most popular company in Europe but IDC has new information, which might spark off some new debates. The statistics are dependable, so we can safely say that Samsung is indeed selling more. However, it will still have stiff competition from Nokia all the time. Samsung may be able to sell more, but they have to still convince the people they are capable of producing dependable products and only then they can think of overhauling Nokia in Europe and other parts of the world.

Samsung Wave now said to be Virus free

By now, you might have already read many different reports all over the Internet stating that the new Unlocked Samsung (wave) is filled with different viruses that can affect your phone. You might have been warned against using it mainly because of it being shipped with a much smaller auto executing virus that affects your mobile phone. In case you’re keeping up to date with this new story, then you have something to cheer for as according to Samsung, the entire mini-debacle has now been cleared up.

Says a representative from Samsung Corporation, “While there may be some that are concerned as to whether the Samsung Unlocked Device (Wave) really does have an auto executing virus as stated on the net, we are happy to announce this is only an isolated issue that has been found on certain cards. A few of the SD manufactured cards that were sold together with the product in Germany caused a bit of inconvenience to our customers; however, this has only been reported in the German market and has not spread to any other locations. We have taken all the necessary measures that are required in completely and immediately resolving the identified issue. All other manufactured products currently available in the market that are or were soon to be shipped have been tested to complete accuracy and authenticity in ensuring that none of our customers would be affected by any of them. They are completely safe to use and neither the American market nor the United Kingdom would be affected in any way.”

So there you have it. Directly from the company itself. So you have nothing more to fear as the virus was simply an isolated case affecting only Germany and other tested products have not shown any signs of being infected by the virus in any way.
