In this article, we plan to give you a review on the Motorola Defy. By the end, you should know the pros and cons of this device and have a good idea on whether you would like to purchase it or not. Some of the features of the Defy are that it has 800MHz CPU, 512MB RAM, and 2GB internal storage. It also has Android 2.1 with MOTOBLUR social web widgets and interface. The screen is 3.7” and 854 by 480 LCD with Gorilla Glass. One of the better features is that it is also water and dust proof.

Many people consider the advantages of the Defy are its light and attractive color. A book can be judged by its color after all. Also, the screen has been reported to be bright and sharp. A really good overall screen. Also, like mentioned above, it is waterproof. Ever accidentally jump into a pool with your phone still in your pocket? Yeah, we’ve all been there. Problem solved.

The disadvantages of this sim free mobile phone is that it is the 2.1 version of Android and it just feels cheap – according to people who have tested it out. Take that as you will, but the device looks far from cheap in my opinion. When I think of cheap, I think of something that will break within the first few months. This looks far from that. I doubt something cheap would be waterproof. Do you really think something cheap would be waterproof? Yeah, I didn’t think so – I’m really not sure where they got that from. Those were the reports though; you can check out the feel for yourself. Another disadvantage that has been reported is the camera; don’t get me wrong, it isn’t an awful camera, but it won’t blow your mind by any means. Either way, this is a phone you should check out.

Opera has officially released their Android version of their mobile browser for public testing while the app is in open beta. Officially titled Opera Mobile 10.1, the application has been in a closed beta for the last few months. Opera is a company that specializes is creating alternative browsers that fit the needs of a small niche of users, which makes the development of their mobile browsers all the more interesting. Often times the company will roll out features that the public has been asking for in other, more well known browsers for quite some time.

One of the most popular features that is included with the new app is the Opera Speed Dial feature. This works very much like the speed dial on your unlocked mobile device in that it allows you to browse through the favorites that you have saved to the Opera browser, and quickly click on them and navigate to the page. This is a feature that is missing from many of the more popular browsers that are available on the Android market.

Currently the App is available for open download on the Android market, but keep in mind that it is still in Beta so everything may not work perfectly as advertised.

It will be interesting to see if the Opera Mobile app for Android catches on with their niche audience as it has with other platforms. Opera is known for being quicker than most browsers across all platforms and relying on ease of use and accessibility to bring more users into the fold as it grows in popularity. The install size of the beta app will be around 20 MB in total, and the size of the app download will be smaller than 7 MB, according to a statement that was released by the company after it went live. Opera will be attempting to compete with the Firefox 4 beta, which was much larger in size when it was first released. Many experts said that they thought that Firefox was “bloated” with unnecessary features.

For all those lucky Verizon users who managed to get their hands on an HTC Incredible, there is more good news as the Android 2.2 is about to hit these devices any time soon.
The news was forwarded to us by our sources, who say that the incredible over-the-air update will begin rolling out from August 18. As had been the case with, Unlocked Motorola Droid and its Android 2.2 release, Verizon has this time as well decided to release a small batch of upgrades first, before pushing it fully to the public.

It is expected that the Verizon HTC Incredible will endure great benefit from the Android 2.2 simply because it manages brings an array of new and awaited improvements for example a much faster browser coupled with an improved performance overall. A simple look at all the features of Andriod 2.2 makes us realise how the OS is apt for the HTC Incredible.

For a long time now the device had taken some sort of a back seat when it came to devices such as the Apple iPhone4 and its latest release and even other Android smartphones such as the Motorola Droid X, the Unlocked Samsung Galaxy S and EVO 4G devices. There is somehow no justification as to why this happened because in all practicality the phone itself is Incredible!
Overall, it is safe to say that Verizon Incredible is indeed one of the better Android phone. Its hardware specs can easily take on all that the market has to offer. Its very light to carry and can handle most tasks such as maps, videos, UI, maps, apps with considerable ease. The design and specs of this device are really enticing and no matter what the drawbacks are, the Incredible scores high marks for sure. To cut the long story tremendously short its “Incredible”!!

The campaign of Droid 2 from Motorola has begun officially, and we now have got a brand new spot of TV for you. It seems that they are walking the way which Unlocked Motorola Droid ( X ) did, and well, users are being turned into Droids.

The ad being sweet as well as short, mentions a few features only of the recently updated device, the features shown are such as inbox of unified type, and apparently upgraded CPU. But one feature of what we were not at all completely aware is while you begin to type on this Droid 2 at a enough fast speed you will feel like your skin is melting and it is revealing the robotic innards out of you, so it is better that you just keep it in your mind.

We started to wonder whether the push regarding the marketing for the D2 ultimately will become as hard just as it was in case of the original, or whether the campaign for advertising will be just dispersed between Motorola’s both the creation of Android phones which are the DX and the D2. In either of the cases, Two solid handsets are got by Verizon so that it can join the battle with those likes of products which are EVO 4G from HTC and even the soon upcoming Epic 4G from Samsung, even if the standard of price point is missed by Epic 4G. The D2 might not at all look like something very much different from that of its all predecessors, but that what counts on it, well, the bad boy, is the inside, indeed.
While the TV ads of this all new Unlocked Motorola Droid ( 2 ) are just at a start, I only can try to imagine what plans Verizon will have for the device of their R2D2 edition.

Paying for the applications and all other items on the Android phone set could become much easier soon. Pay Pal is being rumoured to have talks with the Google as these two arrange a payments system for the applications. This is a good news for all the developers as it offers them an all new mode of payment, may be Android users will be more inclined for purchasing apps with all the convenience offered by PayPal as there have been more number of PayPal users than customers of Google Checkout (the latter is the present mode of making payment for all applications).

Bloomberg Commented:
Android phones users, such as users of Unlocked Motorola Droid ( X ) from Motorola IXC and Droid Incredible from HTC Corp. are guessed to be able to make payment for apps from PayPal as soon in this year is possible, the people said, who declined earlier to be called just because such discussions are not at all public. Customers presently pay through credit card as well as Checkout service from Google.

Android could be brought closer by this to those likes of what is being seen by apple with purchases of app through the store of iTunes. Many iPad, iPod and iPhone4 touch users have an iTunes account existing which is now used by them to purchase applications as well as music, movies and TV shows. Not many are using the Google Checkout even outside of several retail outlets those are online.
Being a user of Android, I would certainly feel to be more inclined to shop apps from the Market of Android in case of PayPal being an option of payment. If it is made a one-click trait, perhaps I will go even nuts loading EVO 4G of mine with new apps.
So, now do you still feel happy with Google Checkout?

There has been a lot of talk about the Motorola’s android models that were to be out in the month of July. The Droid X models had caused a lot of furor before its launch. With the Android’s finally out of the shelf and making some considerably profitable business for the company, Motorola now shifts its attention to another one of its brainchild. The Unlocked Motorola Milestone (XT720) is making heads turn for quite some time now. It’s been eagerly awaited upon in the UK. It seems now that people can stop on their anticipation and actually get a hold of the mobile. The Motorola Milestone model has finally come out in the United Kingdom.

Though the Motorola hasn’t yet managed to find a carrier partner for this mobile as of yet but that hasn’t stopped Clove from bringing it out on the market. This phone has become a rage simply because it promises to be the best among all the smartphones that are out on the streets these days.
It is available for around 380 GBP which is about $580 American. This handset the Motorola Milestone XT720 is also called the MOTOROI.
Here is the list of features which have been the cause of sensationalism surrounding this Unlocked Smartphone. It has an 8 MP camera with a Xenon flash and a 720 pixel high definition video recording capabilities. Along with this comes a WVGA capacitive 3.7 inch touch screen and HDMI out and a sleek 512 MB ram space and with a Wi-Fi connectivity and 1390 mAh battery.

This is the time for a large number of happenings in the market of smartphones. There have been several big things which have happened within a short period of time and one really may find it hard to keep up with all this news. It all started with Apple deciding to reconcile with their customers and give away free iPhone 4 bumper cases, this was followed by bigger news of the release of the Unlocked Motorola Droid (X) on the Verizon plus the release of the Galaxy S phones. This is something big happening with respect to the Android phone market and we are glad to bring you more on this front.

As for the Apple refund, the company decided to finally go ahead and make public its opinion with respect to the antenna issue. They attacked the media and have said that the whole problem had not been dealt correctly and they were not really the ones to blame. While making such a statement, they did however promise to provide free bumper cases to all its users. All this was in the wake of the major issue which had flared up due to the reception problems in the Unlocked iPhone 4 when you would hold it in a certain way. As more and more users reported this issue, the company’s image had taken a major beating. Many consumer reports were actually taking away their recommendations for this phone. With all this being said, Apple was pretty cautious and said that this problem of the ‘Death Grip’ is seen on many other major smartphones which are there in the market.

According to what Apple has said, this issue has really been over hyped by the media and only 1% of the users had come to them with this problem. Although Apple has come up with a bumper case refund, they have not decided to come up with a fix to it.

WeReward is on a roll. After the launch of the iPhone app, WeReward brings to you a ‘mobile incentive platform’. The introduction of this platform would be another feather in the cap of the Android (Unlocked Motorola Milestone) community. This ‘mobile incentive platform’ builds on the idea of Foursquare, a location based social networking site. In Foursquare, users check in at venues and earn points or badges. These badges and points help in leveraging the status of the user in their social network over Foursquare.

The ‘platform’ brought about by WeReward work on similar lines. Users via this platform may comment on places and products while on the. It is almost a live commentary about the product or place, directly from the customer or user. Thus, a true description of the experience is brought forward. Customers are also rewarded when visiting certain specified venues. The user not only discovers new places and experience new things but also earn a small reward in the process. The technology also allows the user to take photos and share these experiences with friends even when on the move.

Companies also find this service attractive as they can take part in the networking to claim their business. As the customers express their honest comments about the experience, companies can use this feedback for betterment of their service. This can also be used as an advertising tool, as the customers would be spreading good words about the product or service voluntarily without the company having to spend too much time and effort on advertising. This method of networking can also be very effective in reaching new customers. New customers can be intrigued or interested on hearing the response from users who have enjoyed the experience.
After iPhone and Android, Blackberry is the next big thing. The mobile application for RIM’s platform is set to hit the market ‘within the next eight weeks’.

Although this has been a period of relatively less activity in the market, there are a number of releases which we have that we can talk about. First, we had the Android phone Milestone droid from Motorola along with news that they will be releasing their first HSPA device. Other than that, we also had the Hulu Plus to check out within this week. Read on to know more about these and other interesting facts.

Motorola will be bringing with it another new phone which will be packing the Android OS which seems to be there in all of the new releases by the company in the recent years. The new Motorola Charm which will be releasing soon is another phone which comes from Motorola and has something that we actually do like. Although there are a number of possible issues with this phone, we really are pro Motorola Charm. The 2.8 inch screen is not too large and we do fear that it will be a little clustered with the MotoBlur add on features. However an Android phone with a portrait QWERTY keypad has long been overdue according to us. Furthermore, the Motorola Charm will also come with a 3 Mega pixel camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. This will also come with the customary MicroSD slot.

We can also tell you that T-Mobile may just be bringing this phone to its customers for free along with a two year contract. The Motorola Charm will come with the Android 2.1 which means that it is a pretty well equipped Smartphone. Other than this, we are also pretty excited to tell you that T-Mobile will be coming out with its HSPA device by September on an HTC device which will run on Android. This will increase download speeds up to 42 Mbps. These maximum speeds will be reached by next year at the earliest.

The Motorola Droid X has been available for pre-order from Best Buy. But unfortunately, Best Buy had to stop these orders, as they were huge in number, as opposed to the number of units available. The huge number of pre-orders can be due to the reasons that the Droid X is the hottest new Android phone to have, and it can compete against the likes of the Apple iPhone 4, which has been plagued with problems from the very beginning. According to Best Buy, there is no fixed launch date as yet, but it can be easily surmised that they will be available from the 15th. There is an option for incredible users as well. Those who have already ordered the HTC Incredible, they can switch their orders to the Droid X instead.

The reason behind the Droid X’s massive fan-following is that it is the greatest and latest of devices by Motorola. It has a luxurious 4.3”854 x 480 touch screen, Android 2.1, 1 GHz processor, HDMI-out and a whopping 8 megapixel camera, which comes with a dual-LED flash and 720p video recording. The Unlocked Droid X is the best alternative for the HTC EVO 4G. This is also a very good option for those who prefer Verizon’s coverage better than that of Sprint’s WiMAX. When the Droid X ultimately launches, it will be going for $199 for a two-year contract with Verizon.

The Droid X has seen pretty good numbers when it comes to pre-orders, but people are still speculating how it would survive against a myriad of smartphones coming to the market. There is absolutely no doubt that Motorola has done a brilliant job with the Droid X, and the phone is packed to the core with the latest features that can make you drool. But whether or not the Droid X will be able to stand off against Unlocked Smartphone giants like Apple and HTC, or Samsung is something that we all are waiting to see. They are both coming out with superb devices of their own, and lets just hope the Droid X can hold its ground.
