In a small bit of a move, intriguing Dell has just opened the wide doors to the first own store of mobile apps and it is going to provide us with programs for BlackBerry, Android, webOS, Windows Mobile and Symbian.
That store offers the support for 11 carriers at least and it boasts too that there have been more than supposedly 50,000 ways to bring improvement to your mobilephone. PocketNow is powering the content and it also is accepting credit card for making both PayPal and payments. It seems to be that you can buy only the apps and after that transfer them via a computer over to your phone, as I cannot see any option of making over-the-air purchases.

While I was playing literally with the store of mobile app from Dell, I just walked into a very wired occurrence: I did type in “AT&T” to be my carrier and I selected the recent release of Dell Streak to check what is so good with that. I have been hit with; Apps are available for your device to download from only the Market application of Android on the device you use.

That is odd, yes, I thought to myself, but suddenly then I recalled that AT&T has absolutely no allowance for its Android mobilephones for downloading apps outside the Market of Android. So, completely it looks as such flagship mobile phone from Dell currently cannot have an access to the store of mobile app from Dell. It is Lame.
I after that went there to have a look at what was there to be downloaded by me for the Droid X from Motorola on Verizon store and I met with multiple options.
It is utterly an interesting measure by Dell as this company knows somewhere that it had to make adjustment in the industry.

After they had about one day to take a look over patent lawsuits by Oracle against Android from Google regarding Java, the complaint has been called “baseless” by this search giant. This would mean that it is actually gearing up to fight legally.
A spokesperson from Google said:
We are utterly disappointed as Oracle has decided to attack both the community of open-source Java and Google with this kind of baseless lawsuit. The community of open-source Java goes beyond any particular one corporation it works every single day just to make web a much better place. Hence we will defend the open-source standards strongly and will continuously work with this industry for developing the platform for Android.

At its complaint, Oracle stated that the operating system of Android mobilephones from Google infringes upon multiple property patents those are intellectual regarding Java. Android though based on Linux uses Java in much of its layers of application. Oracle is also stating that the Development Kit of Android Software infringes upon few of its patents too.

Once Java was thought to be some language of write-once, but run everywhere type but never it did quite live up to those billing thanks to several forking. It is quite versatile still, though.
Some parts of the Java apps were somehow made pretty available under a license of open source by Oracle and Sun spent about the amount of $5 billion in order to acquire the Sun as well as Java patents which are applicable for this.
Google never even appears like it will very soon back down, which would precisely mean a drawn-out, lengthy, legal battle. In general, this kind of lawsuit takes even years after years just in order to resolve it and end up most with a mere settlement and licensing agreement out-of-court.

Even though Android 2.2 Froyo is heading for Motorola Droid owners in coming weeks, it seems Droid owners would still have to hang on for the Flash 10.1 to be compatible with their phones. Flash 10.1 Player is expected to be available for Droid owners not before August 18th.
Many users got confused after upgrading to Froyo on their Unlocked Motorola Droid because Flash Player, with its newly upgraded OS was still not launched in the Android market. However, as per the above document the new Flash Player will take some time to make it available in the market, so users have to be patient. The fact that has been highlighted is that even after updating Moto Droid with Android 2.2 Froyo, Moto users would still have to make an “additional download” in order to enjoy Flash in totality.

Either some issues regarding compatibility with Flash might have delayed the launch or maybe there is some other reason for it non-availability which we are unaware of. Maybe Verizon has some information regarding this, maybe a new beta is going to be launched for the Flash player, or perhaps Flash player is coming all together out of beta. It is indeed a lot fun to speculate.

Whatever the case maybe, whether beta is there or not, Moto Droid users can soon download the Adobe Flash application within two to three weeks. Considering that Droid 2 is going to be launched on 12th August, people have ample time to decide whether they want to upgrade their Droid 2. Seeing the performance of Flash on the original smartphone of Motorola Android, one can imagine how better it would run on Android’s successor. The web would soon be available in America’s most sought-after Android phone, and now it is for us to wait and see how well the performance is on the mid-range hardware. Now the question is whether to upgrade to the upcoming D2 or to stick to the old D1?

Google just continues to amaze unlocked smart phone enthusiasts with its continued releases of fantastic application for the Android platform. For Android Froyo owners the news is the anticipated release of the Google Voice Actions app for Android platforms. You can now use your voice to give your smart phone an array of commands that reduces the need for you to browse through menus or keep on tapping the screen for a simple function. Make calls, send texts, search for info and do much more with a few small utterances. What more could you ask for?

This is not Google’s first foray into the voice application market, with Google 411 being the first offering with its voice to text conversion functionality for Android 2.1 phones. This new app is ready to take the markets by storm with Google claiming it increases the compelling and comprehensive nature of the Android platform. Surely Google Voice is set to have a large number of takers considering that it not only provides these phones with improved functionality but makes using them more fun!
Apple has already been making strides in the voice guidance applications market with its recent $200 million acquisition of the speech-controlled Siri which should find integration with the iPhone OS. Microsoft has begun blowing its bugle too with claims of an industry leading speech guided command platform for its Windows mobilephones. The way things are going Samsung and LG threaten to join the voice app rat race pretty soon and it may just be a delight for phone enthusiasts everywhere with all companies fighting for a footing in this market. In such a scenario Google has surely struck a chord with its release.

The next few months promise to be a fantastic time for consumers with almost every company trying their best to outdo each other vehemently. Until the time the other companies join in, Google will enjoy some sort of monopoly in the voice guided app market.

This May, Google came up with the idea of a load of new features for the new Android 2.2 (Froyo), one of which was connected to the web browser Chrome, namely the Google Chrome 2 Phone program which enables you to send content from Google Chrome by just the click of one button to any Android 2.2.

With this new extension, one can send content from the web directly to their handset without even touching it. For example if you’re looking through directions to your favorite restaurant. With this extension installed, all you will need is to click the button which says “Send to Phone” in your browser, and the directions will be shown on your set.
This finds support in many Google applications, particularly Google Finance. For example if you are looking at data on Google Finance on your computer and you want to see it on your phone as well, a simple click of the “Send to Phone” button will send the data over to the Google Finance app on your mobilephones.
The best part is it doesn’t stop there. Soon enough with the release of the new Android 3.0 (Gingerbread), the C2P extension is expected to become a bigger and more useful application. The market expects that Google will finally apply its use to Google Music. It is expected that soon Chrome to Phone will enable users to purchase Android applications along with the feature of being able to buy music and forward it to any Android Unlocked smart phone, all this while not even having to look at the handset.

Users of the Android 2.2 platform on their phones can simply purchase C2P from the Android Market. The extension must also be installed on the Chrome browser for the whole process to work. An extension for the Firefox is also available in the market. Here’s looking forward to more incredible releases by Google.

A little close to an a year back, Gameloft released its new offering Gangstar: West Coast Hustle, an obvious inspiration being the Grand Theft Auto game series from Rockstar Games. It appears that Gameloft has again been inspired from the Grand Theft series as they announced a sequel to West Coast Hustle that is called, Miami Vindication for mobilephones.

Miami Vindication carries off from a place immensely similar to Vice City from the GTA series but in general is referred to as Miami. The game itself is full of several open-ended situations where you’ll be asked to take on different missions that will inevitably involve a lot of driving, so it’s better if you are prepared. As was the case in West Coast Hustle, you’ll be expected to shoot, fight steal cars, and shoot some more, In short you must commit a number of crimes to progress from stage to stage as you go through this game. Gameloft promises to observe new levels in 3-Dimensional graphics as Miami Vindication is fully optimized so as to take full advantage of Unlocked iPhone 4’s popular Retina Display.

Further still Gameloft released a complete trailer for Miami Vindication. It does what we would call a good job when it comes to showing what is to be expected from this game. Some obvious glitches in the game which act like an eyesore are the attention to detail on some vehicle models which is found lacking to say the least. The same can be said of the character models. Regardless, Gangstar: West Coast Hustle is enjoyable and Miami Vindication is a release to look forward to even if it seems that the market will be full of games with better graphics, game play and what is much sought after attention to detail as compared to this Gameloft release.

According to researches conducted by Saudi Communication and Information Technology Commission messages which are sent or received from Unlocked Blackberry phones are supposedly encrypted in such a way that the UAE government couldn’t decipher and eavesdrop on the phone users. Only one Blackberry enterprise is the standard in all markets. This Blackberry enterprise solution was initially designed to elude all third parties like RIM and many others. These third parties cannot under any circumstances whatsoever have access to the encrypted data neither can they store it. This shows Blackberry enterprise solutions have immense confidence in the security systems developed by them and will no way compromise.

Due to this obnoxious behaviour, UAE publicly announced that they were going to ban Blackberry service for browsing BBM and emails from October. Some countries in the Middle East like Kuwait are not completely banning Blackberry enterprises but they are improving RIM in order to block around 3,000 porn sites to be accessed by users. RIM has a reputation of complying with regulatory requirements and provides utmost security to their mobile phone users. This action was taken since among the adolescences whose first handset would be sometimes a Blackberry, were fond to indulge in porn websites hence strict action had to be taken by the government.
RIM is known to have spent almost ten years in developing strong security architecture to comply with the governments strict security requirements. This is the reason why RIM is the first choice for many enterprises and governments since RIM unlike Blackberry was ready to alter their security systems for the welfare of the government. Research in Motion had asked all enterprises to block adult sites until the end of this year and RIM supposedly issued a statement saying that their system cannot eavesdrop on Blackberry’s messages. So the Blackberry’s banned for now.
