Every Android Owner Can Now be an Artistic Photographer, Thanks to Vignette

Few expect classic photos to be produced by their cellular phones. But if you see what wonders can be created with a decent camera fitted with a £2.99 application, you would definitely be surprised.

The Android ( Google Nexus One) camera application that can create wonders with your camera is marketed as Vignette. It can be used to apply any one of the 21 frames or 62 effects that can make the images pop. The effects of the app range from conversion of images to sober lighting portraits, high-saturation, Toy Camera, Vintage, black and white, and various other filters. Vignette users can also combine settings in the “Custom” mode and produce their desired effect. One can remove the image by deleting it, in case he is not happy with that particular outcome, or they may resort to applying different effects and then saving the image. You can capture images normally also and then “Import” them to apply effects.

Obviously people using Vignette are not going to click pictures in order to display them on museum walls adjoining Gordon Parks, they are not going to exhibit their pictures after all. But plenty of options are there for Vignette users to capture memorable pictures in their mobile phones that reflect emotions. The effectiveness of this app depends on the strength of default camera; so stronger the camera more effective is this app. You can expect to have a gala time with Grab Vignette while you venture out on amateur photography.

Adobe Flash ‘Frashed’ into iPad

There are many drawbacks in the Apple iPad, but one of the most significant problems is that Apple and its CEO, Steve Jobs have prevented Adobe’s Flash technology to run in the Mobile Safari browser. According to Steve Jobs, Flash is not really required as with newer advancements in HTML5 standards, it becomes possible to achieve the same visual experience that flash provides. In fact, users would have already been used to such HTML standards over the years.

But despite all this, there are lots of sites on the Internet that do not work correctly on the iPad and Apple Unlocked iPhone, as well as other IOS devices. But fortunately, the eternally helpful community for iPhone development has tried to solve this problem, and has ported the Flash application to the iPad. At the moment port is called “Frash”, and it is the infant most stage in introducing Flash technology to the iPad.

The real brain behind this very helpful development is Comex, known for great deal of iphone hacking and it is totally responsible for Adobe’s Flash runtime compatible with the iPad. The Frash port is based on version 10.1 of Adobe Flash. This same application runs on Android phones (Google Nexus One) with Android 2.2 Froyo Operating System. In the case of Frash, it was possible to run Flash applications from within Mobile Safari, and it has been seen that Flash applications are working fairly well on the iPad.

Frash uses a multi-process model, which is similar to that of Chrome. So, if Frash/Flash decides to crash, it does not shut down the whole browser with it, which is an advantage. Safari doesn’t shut down, and continues to play other content which has Flash on the page. Frash is not ready for public exposure, as keyboard and video inputs have not yet been made available.

So, for now, only hope is that the world comes to terms with using HTML5, or Steve Jobs and Apple decides to give it’s i-devices some Flash love.

MSpot Now Available in Android Market

MSpot is a music streaming service, which has gained huge acclaim by users as it allows the user to access his computer, access the music library, and listen to all the music on the user’s computer from anywhere, through an Android device like the HTC Google Nexus One. MSpot is now live, and is easily available in the Android market.

To get started is very simple. The MSpot software is to be downloaded first to your PC or Mac. The next step is to give the program access to all the music that you would want to listen to. Signing up and the setup are very easy, and once all this is done, MSpot starts uploading the music that you have selected, into its library. After all this has been done, you can download this application into your Android device. But downloading this application requires that you have an Android device of the version 2.1 or higher as the new Samsung I9000.

The problem that will be there now is that, since this service is now available to all, uploading the music will take more time. Users might get notifications, saying that “due to the many new users, it may take a while to upload your library.” If you try to reload the site, the program might crash.

Well, hopefully, the big brains behind MSpot will remove these problems as soon as possible. But right now, it seems that this is not to happen. So, all we can do is wait and watch. In the meantime, there are other services to Smartphone Users which provide the same facilities as that of MSpot, like HomePipe. These other programs, on the other hand, work perfectly well. Such problems being faced by so many users could start hampering MSpot, as it is a new program. Hopefully after it has run for a few days, all problems will diminish.

Google exercises its control over errand Apps on the Android Platform

Google has recently done a deep investigation on the huge amount of applications which are Google Nexus One Unlocked Phone running on Android platform and have found out that two such applications on the Android platform are in violation of the Content policy. Hence, they have used their remote kill option to remove the applications stored on phones.

A look at the Android apps market really makes us wonder how Google is passing so many of these apps, which are largely not even good enough for a re-look. Hence, there is no reason why such apps should be flooding the markets. It is amazing to note that these apps run up numbers to the tune of around 50,000 many of which are of no use.

Google has officially released a statement with respect to these apps. They have said that there were two such apps which were being circulated on the internet. These were developed for research but had a description which was not tending to that fact resulting in people downloading these apps on a large scale. However it is encouraging that no private data was compromised. These apps did not have the rights to access private data. This is why the problem was so seriously dealt with by Google for the benefit of the huge number of Android users in the market.

It has now come to attention that the system used by  Unlocked Apple Iphones in registering apps in their iTunes apps store on their mobile devices is perhaps the way to go. This is true as it is a known fact that one really will not find such errand apps on the apps store on Apple’s iTunes.

Google has taken cognizance of this fact and will be looking into such matter. For now Google has killed these apps such that the user’s safety is not really compromised.
