Gone is Google Buzz to Focus on Google+

October 17th, 2011

Over the past few years Google has been making several attempts to capture market share within the social networking industry. They released a handful of applications designed to try and gain some traction against the mighty Facebook. Tough task considering the sheer size of Facebook, but nonetheless important as the ability to do so clearly will provide an environment to push Google products.

On Friday, Google announced that it will be shutting down its Google Buzz service to focus exclusively on their new Google+ service. For those of you that don’t know, Google+ is an environment that allows you to create circles of friends in a private environment to share information similar to Facebook.Gone is Google Buzz to Focus on Google+

Initial reports of the recent launch have shown that Google has perhaps figured out the magic formula to creating an effective social networking environment. This release solidifies that as they now want to focus majority of their efforts on the Google+ platform.

Google Buzz was their attempt to try and merge e-mail, twitter, and Facebook like features into one simple environment. The problem was that the execution was poor and the service was more of a headache as opposed to a value added feature to the average user. Many of the key complaints were that Google Buzz automatically was added to Gmail accounts taking up valuable space and the attention span from users who only wanted to do e-mail. The implementation was taken straight out of the Facebook playbook and that they try to impose a new service without the consent of the user.Gone is Google Buzz to Focus on Google+

It will be interesting to see how the Google plus service further grows to become a legitimate competitor to Facebook. Many industry experts think it is too late, but anyone can do it is most probably Google as they are one of the few companies that have an existing user base to build a platform on.

First Look at the Samsung Nexus Prime

October 6th, 2011

With everything in the news of late being about Apple, we wanted to mix it up a little bit and present to you a new device from Samsung. The Samsung Nexus Prime is the latest from the manufacturer that is set to be the flagship product Google will support and promote. The phone is set to be launched during the upcoming Samsung press conference but we managed to get a sneak peek of the phone and some of its specifications.First Look at the Samsung Nexus Prime

Specs of the Samsung Nexus Prime have not been 100% confirmed. Based on what’s available online, it appears that the screen is going to be 4.6 inches and use super AMOLED HD resolution that results in 720p quality. This equates to a pixel density of 320 PPI which is more than enough for the human eye.First Look at the Samsung Nexus Prime

The hardware on the phone seems to have undergone some radical changes as well. There are virtually no buttons on the face of the phone as all navigation will be managed by the software and the touch screen capabilities of the Samsung Nexus Prime. This design is based on the fact that Android Ice Cream operating system uses the honeycomb as the base for its functionality. As a result, very little navigation is needed using the physical hardware buttons typically found on phones.

This is yet another case of why Apple needed to release something significant into the marketplace. It is clear that competitors are catching up as we are seeing more and more apple-like devices being launched by several manufacturers. If this phone is anything like the SIM Free Samsung Galaxy S II, you can be sure that it will receive rave reviews and possibly become Samsungs most popular phone given that it will be launched during the holidays.

These movies are going to be new releases on DVD and even some older releases that are still going to be available through the marketplace."Android Movies"

They have made it clear that they are looking to break into the movies streaming market in a big way. With companies like Netflix having issues and making several fumbles recently in our strategy for their business, it is clear that there is going to be an opening in the market here soon. With all of the Android devices that are currently out there, it appears as if Google thinks that their place in the movie streaming department is going to be helped most by their ability to utilize their search engine and operating system for mobile devices in order to spread their service.

"put-play-movies-music-on-android devices" Once you have rented the movie, you were going to be able to watch it for as many as 30 days. If you have an HDMI cord, you may be able to watch these movies on your television, depending on the device that you actually have. It is no secret that in this day and age security is a huge issue with many users. In fact, most have stated that security is going to be the biggest issue for them moving forward. However, a recent study estimated that very few of those that state that security is a huge concern and will take further steps and precautions. At this point, it is expected that companies go the extra mile to ensure that the data of their users is safe after some of the large leaks that we have seen in recent times. The most recent study which was conducted by the NPD group, focused mostly on owners of smart devices. 43% of these users said that they were concerned that their activities were being unknowingly monitored. 42% said that they were a little bit worried about hackers having access to their personal files through their Smart device. Only 6% of those involved said that they had installed some security apps on their phone in order to be able to ensure that they remain secure. It seems as if many people worry about security issues that can be associated with mobile devices, but are not willing to really do anything about it.

It will be interesting to see what kinds of measures are taken in the future to allow mobile phone users such as SIM Free Samsung Infuse 4G to be able to ensure that they stay safe when utilizing their smart phone. There are many different apps that are currently out there, but none of them have really taken off in sure the safety of those that use the devices.

Apple it is over delivering with some other new features. The fact that you are able to put all of your iTunes to the cloud and be able to listen to your music at any time is a feature that many people are going to be very happy with. Being able to utilize the new features that are available will allow for many users such as SIM Free iPhone 4 more access to their music when they are out and about. This is something that people will most definitely enjoy and will allow for many new opportunities as far as access to your music goes."iTunes In Cloud"

They are not going to be the first service to offer cloud-based streaming, but you can bet that they are going to be one of the most popular based on the popularity of their music service already. Apple has not yet made the official announcement during a press conference, but was able to make the announcement today. This has been in development for quite some time and it is not currently known why they waited so long to announce it."Apple"

Other companies, such as Google have made in attempt to launch their own cloud music streaming services, but have been marred by delays and various other issues that they have had to deal with the rapid process. The comparisons between the Google service, the Apple service, and various other services that are currently available are minimal but will definitely find comparisons drawn between.

It will be interesting to see how this industry shakes out. It has become a fairly basic idea for service and continues to become more popular with some of the largest companies in the world for quite some time. Another thing that you need to take into account when you are choosing a service is where you keep your files area this is what Apple is counting on. They would like it to be convenient for people to make one click of the button on SIM Free iPhone 4 and have all their music in iTunes account move over.

Google has not released all that many Nexus devices in the past, and this should make it a very highly popular device once it is finally released. Companies React to Google’s Acquisition

August 17th, 2011

It is no secret that in the mobile industry companies were going to have a hard time expressing their feelings regarding Google purchased Motorola. With Google already being looked at as a company that could potentially have a monopoly on various industries within the tech industry, this acquisition is certainly not going to help their cause in court. This acquisition will allow them to hugely bolster the patent portfolio that the company has. Being able to own guns is something that allows other companies to court for infringing on its patents and allows them to tie up millions of dollars in legal processes.google logo

A number of companies issued statements regarding the acquisition, and overall he seemed to be that they were not looking to say anything too negative about what has been going on. The statement was released by the executives from Samsung, Sony Ericsson, HTC and LG that stated “We welcome today’s news, which demonstrates Google’s deep commitment to defending Android, its partners, and the ecosystem.”

Although that was probably not really Google’s full intention in acquiring the company, it will be a stretch to think that the company is doing so only to support the Android phones such as SIM Free Samsung Galaxy S II. However, they do continue to expand and lessen the limitations of the Android platform, and it will ensure that they are able to put together an excellent plan for the future.Motorola logo

This is going to be one of the world’s largest acquisitions within the mobile industry over the course of the last few years and you can bet that they’re going to continue to change the landscape and make an industry that can be supported by themselves and both devices and the operating system in which those devices utilized it will definitely be an interesting next few months following the acquisition as we went to watch what Google does with her new kinds of information.

Google Claims They Hate Patent Lawsuits, Buys 1000 New Patents

August 2nd, 2011

Google has claimed that they hate smart phone patent wars, something that they have been involved in quite often recently. It is kind of interesting because their actions would suggest that they actually love to go into smart phone patent wars and that they believed that it would be worth it for their company to do so. In a recent interview Kent Walker stated that he thought that the patent wars and software patent wars within the tech industry were “a significant problem.”

google logo This seems to go against the general consensus of the company that has continually added new lawsuits and patent wars to their list. It is pretty interesting that someone from the company would say that Google was not interested in going to war with other companies when they have done so on a regular basis with some of the largest companies within the mobile space and technology space as well.Patent Lawsuits

Subsequently, Google purchased more than 1000 patents from IBM two weeks before those comments were made. Our report was recently released that stated that the patents that were purchased include a wide range of Internet protocol including the fabrication and architecture of memory and micro processing chips, all the way to patents that includes servers and routers. With Apple buying up patents as well, it looks as if these companies are gearing up for further lawsuits in the future in the words of Kent Walker may not ring as true as one would think. The terms of the acquisition have not been released at this time and may not be made available at any time in the future. it is clear that this is the direction that the company is heading in the future and I would not be surprised to see more lawsuits over patents come about as the competition starts to stiffen moving forward.

Gmail Update Ruins Third Party Apps

August 1st, 2011

The most recent updates for Gmail for Android devices such as SIM Free Samsung Galaxy S II have broken all of the third-party applications that were connected to it. There are number of applications that have been utilizing the system, and it will take some time for these app owners to get to updating them to work with the newest upgrade. Almost immediately after the application went live, many users reported other third-party applications went down.Gmail

A number of developers were notified ahead of time that the update to the Gmail application could potentially cause a number of security flaws within other applications. The API that was used to access certain pieces of Gmail would be removed in the 2.3.5 update, and as a result of this change many of the apps have gone down. Google has made an outstanding effort to reach out to the community and let people know that this was coming, but it appears that many developers have leather applications go by the wayside and were not interested in updating them with this newest update.Third Party Apps

Some of the apps that have had problems include the e-mail notifier by mapeapps, Launcher Pro, MessageCenter, Notify Me, and GMailRinger. it is not currently clear if these applications are going to receive an updated any point in the near future, but you can bet that they have been notified and are therefore liable to update their own applications as Google does not have access to. These changes are definitely something that Google would like to avoid the security flaws make it impossible for them to do so.

Updates like this often break third-party applications and there is little that the larger company can do to warn them. The changes that we have seen in recent updates show that Google is looking to keep their applications as updated as possible and continually add new features that other users such as SIM Free HTC Google Nexus One will enjoy.

Hidden iPhone App for Facebook

July 27th, 2011

With the recent announcement that Facebook has updated her iPhone app, it now appears that there is a hidden Facebook app for the SIM Free iPhone 4. It is not all that unusual that hidden apps exist within the mobile market, often hidden buried deep within the code of various other applications. It was recently announced on various of the large tech blogs that there is a hidden iPhone app that can be found in the code of their current Facebook iPhone application. It is not currently clear if the hidden application that was found is the application that they will be shipping, and will most likely be a version that was released for the iPad. The application also utilizes the popovers, and various other overlay menus that can be found in other Apple iPad applications. The new application also allows you to flip the iPad horizontally, which will then list all of your online friends that you can chat with fairly easily.

With the company pushing out updates to their current applications, it will be interesting to see if they roll out a completely new version of the application at some point in the future. All of the updates that they have released have been relatively small lately so it would make sense that a huge update would be here at some point in the future.

It is likely that since Facebook was in a rush to update their previous applications after a number of bugs were discovered, that led to the pushing back of the hidden application that was found. It will be interesting to see if they are able to put together an excellent application that is free of the bugs and issues that we have seen in their previous applications. The Facebook app is one that has received a lot of bad press for the issues with the chat and picture viewer in the past, and it is clear that the company is looking to dispel these issues, especially with the release of Google+ on their tail.
