Computer giants Dell are now planning on breaking out into the mobile market as well

August 25th, 2010

In a small bit of a move, intriguing Dell has just opened the wide doors to the first own store of mobile apps and it is going to provide us with programs for BlackBerry, Android, webOS, Windows Mobile and Symbian.

That store offers the support for 11 carriers at least and it boasts too that there have been more than supposedly 50,000 ways to bring improvement to your mobilephone. PocketNow is powering the content and it also is accepting credit card for making both PayPal and payments. It seems to be that you can buy only the apps and after that transfer them via a computer over to your phone, as I cannot see any option of making over-the-air purchases.

While I was playing literally with the store of mobile app from Dell, I just walked into a very wired occurrence: I did type in “AT&T” to be my carrier and I selected the recent release of Dell Streak to check what is so good with that. I have been hit with; Apps are available for your device to download from only the Market   application of Android on the device you use.

That is odd, yes, I thought to myself, but suddenly then I recalled that AT&T has absolutely no allowance for its Android mobilephones for downloading apps outside the Market of Android. So, completely it looks as such flagship mobile phone from Dell currently cannot have an access to the store of mobile app from Dell. It is Lame.

I after that went there to have a look at what was there to be downloaded by me for the Droid X from Motorola on Verizon store and I met with multiple options.

It is utterly an interesting measure by Dell as this company knows somewhere that it had to make adjustment in the industry.
