Apple Fans are the Most Loyal

December 1st, 2010

A recent survey that was conducted by the market research firm GfK that looked at the loyalty of customers to a number of different tech companies and the products that they have to offer. In the survey, it was found that the only company that posted a large amount of loyal customers was Apple, which doesn’t come as that big of a surprise but is interesting to say the least. SIM Free iPhone 4 users were especially loyal to the company, with 59% of the users that were surveyed saying that they would be remaining faithful to the iOS updates that are offered by Apple.

BlackBerry came in second place in the survey, with 35% of users saying that they would rather remain with BlackBerry unlocked mobile than explore other operating systems and devices. Meanwhile, only 28% of Android users said that they would remain loyal to the platform, followed closely by 24% of Symbian users and 21% of Windows Phone users, which was not exclusive to Windows Phone 7 users, which might dramatically shift the results.

The individuals who were interviewed came from a number of different countries including the United States, Brazil, Germany, China and Spain. There were a total number of 2,653 people interviewed in the survey. While these users only equate to a small number of the mobile phone users across the globe it still is a telling survey that clearly shows that Apple has managed to create loyalty and trust with their customers through their high quality products and clear cut communication on upcoming releases and features that will be added to their devices.

Although the survey is a small one, it will be interesting to see if Apple uses the statistics to demonstrate their viability over other companies. The fact that their users stay with them and are loyal to them says a lot about the way that they conduct business.
